Does anyone know anything about dog growths?

I own six year old male Siberian Husky and recently I found a bump near the thigh of his back left leg. I thought it was tick but after examining it, I noticed that it appeared to be apart of his skin. It is very small and white (looks like a cross between a mole and a pimple) but the way it's attached, makes me think it's a tick. It looks a little red, like theirs tiny, tiny bit of dried blood at the base, but that may have come from him biting at it. I'm really worried, so if anyone knows anything that could help; I'd really appreciate your answers

Reply:It can be a number of things. Only your vet can tell you for sure though.
Reply:I have a beagle and she had a growth like you are referring to. It appeared at roughly the same age. My vet said it was a "old age growth". He said we could pay to have it removed but the dog would get more over time. (She didn't for several more years) Just to be safe have a vet look at it. They should be able to remove it as it seems to be bothersome to your pup.
Reply:ticks usually turn dark Grey and when they've had their full just drop off You can smear a drop of Vaseline gel around it as a tick has to breathe if it cant it will lose its grip If you do see a tick at any time on your dog don't be tempted to pull it off as if you leave the head still attached it will become infected
Reply:I don't believe it's anything to be concerned about. Our dog has about 10 reddish white growths on her. I think it's just a sign of old age.
