What is that jelly stuff on and around scab after shower or when wound is pretty much saturated?

I cut myself on my chin friday, it was quite deep. I have been keeping it clean and putting savlon on it. However I have also noticed when the savlon has been on for a while or after the shower the scab appears to have a jelly like stuff on it.

Anyway, when I am cleaning the cut up after a shower or something i have been lightly dabbing it and rubbing it and this stuff comes off. Its obviously not skin growth as this is under the scab.

Is this bad? Should I leave it be.

My wound is healing very fast and I am not taking the scab itself off. I think it will be healed by the end of the week.

It is merely the scab. As the underlying tissue heals and fills in the hole, it pushes up on the scab. When the scab is wet, it becomes saturated to the point some of the scab falls off, leaving pink/red tissue underneath. Remember a scab is the body's natural band aid.

You are doing a perfect job keeping it cleaned. Keep with the ointment, by keeping it moist, it doesn't have a chance to crack and bleed (opening new areas thus less scarring).

Good luck.
