What is it?

my staffy has had a tiny lump on his belly and armpit for quite a time. to me it looks like a pink raisin and the one on his belly has grown. i asked the vet and he sed its just a skin growth and can remove it by tying string around it. but my mum doesnt want me to do..i dont know y. is there anyone who knows wat this is or how i can get rid of it another way without hurting him?

What is it?
I would get the opinion of another vet as I really can't believe they would suggest you try this at home. Even if it can be done, it's not something that should be done by someone who's never had experience with it.

If/when you do see another vet, find out if it's a health issue to your dog. If it's not anything that's really an issue, but simply not "eye pleasing" then there is no need to actually do anything with them.
Reply:Why would the vet not remove it? Go back and ask the vet to remove.
Reply:There is actually a vet that would suggest removing a growth by tying a string around it????????????????????

Yes there is another way...SURGERY. The vet just knocks the dog out and takes it off!!!!!

Get a new vet.
Reply:As long as you checked with your vet, go for it. This is how nurses I worked with got rid of skin tags. We would clean them with antiseptic or alcohol, tie suture string tight at the base of the tag, and in a week, the spot would drop right off, healed. The vet could do it if your mom thinks thats best. good luck
Reply:Seek another vet's opinion. Respectfully, either your vet was joking with you or hes found the eggnog already.
